Hemingway as a Flash Fiction Writer
Guy Hogan has been encouraging us here at FFO since the day we went live -- thanks very much, Guy.
He runs a blog at http://flashfictionnow.blogspot.com, and I want to highlight one really interesting thing he's doing: picking apart Hemingway as a flash writer. You can find the Hemingway series tagged here:

I especially like entry #7.
Nice work, Guy!

Jake, thanks for stopping by. Hemingway has taught me most of what I know about vision and voice and style. His stories keep me honest, they keep me from showing off. Stories should be about the characters and not the author; and I think reading Hemingway would teach any writer the importance of craftpersonship, the endless amount of revision that goes into a really good piece of flash fiction. Sure, inspiration might get you published; but it is perspiration that makes you a writer.
Jake, thanks for bringing this to my attention.
Great stuff, Guy.
