Columbia Pictures Wins Rights to Asimov's Foundation

From Variety, Columbia Pictures wins the rights to Isaac Asimov's trilogy, Foundation, to be directed by Roland Emmerich. I'll go.

This *is* Roland Emmerich of "10,000 BC", "Independence Day", and the 1998 "Godzilla". With that track record, I'm not sure there's cause for celebration. :/

Thanks for the reply, Infinite.

Some movies I'll go to because I have to. I'll see the new Star Trek with original characters and new cast--having low expectations--but hoping for the best (or at least a satisfying Ed Wood Jr. experience). I'll see the Foundation movie hoping only for the best, Ed Wood Jr. *not* allowed for an Asimov classic. Columbia Pictures, you're on notice.

I liked Independence Day okay. Fortunately, I haven't seen the other two.
