Flash Fiction Flashback: Mirror Skinned by Kelly Sandoval Kelly Sandoval

N MAY 2015, Floyd Mayweather Jr. beat Manny Pacquiao in a welterweight fight that broke all previous financial records for a boxing match. The oldest known prehistoric bird, Archaeornithura meemannae, and the oldest, most distant galaxy known to man, EGS-zs8-1, were discovered. Pablo Picasso’s “The Women of Algiers” sold at auction for a whopping $179.3 million USD. And in disappointing news to all 80s sitcom kids, the Olsen twins announced that they were not be returning for the “Full House” revival (probably a wise decision).

May 2015 also marks Flash Fiction Online‘s publication of Mirror Skinned by Kelly Sandoval, a beautifully-told, interstellar love story. If you’re willing to venture beyond the familiar, there’s beauty to be found in not just our similarities, but also our differences.
