We’re kicking off our 100th issue countdown and subscription drive by taking a look at our 2013 issues!
Though these were not the first stories FFO published (our online publications date back to 2007), these were the first that were grouped together into numbered issues by former Editor-in-Chief Suzanne W. Vincent.
October 2013’s Issue 1 kicked off with some of the eeriness and strangeness that we’ve come to enjoy in our annual Halloween/horror issue, including “Swan Maiden” from Barbara A. Barnett, whom we interviewed for our 2022 Super Subscriber exclusive content (see more info below)
Issue #2 from November 2013 took a turn to the sentimental, with stories about grief, love, and longing.
And Issue #3, from December 2013, highlights the varied range of genres FFO has become known for, with a sci-fi story, a fantasy story, and a crime story all in one issue.
Join us on this dive into our archives and celebrate with us all the amazing places that flash fiction can take us!
